for Teacher Training Program on Science Education in Nashik
  Dear Neeraj,
Tribal Development Department; Government of Maharashtra has started a
three-year initiative, “Science- A way of life”. The project focuses on
improving science education at middle school level by providing multiple inputs
including intensive teacher training and providing hands-on science kit for
experiential learning in the classroom, and is being undertaken with academic
and field support from Eklavya Foundation.

As a part of this project, the Tribal Development Department successfully
conducted its first teacher training for middle school and high school science
teachers in Amravati from 22nd to 28th December 2017. We thank Prof. Kishore
Pawar from the Higher Education department of Madhya Pradesh for being a
resource person in the training and giving his valuable inputs.

As a part of  second phase of this project, the Tribal Development Department
is conducting a teacher’s training for middle school science teachers from 15th
to 24th April 2018 in Nashik, wherein the first two days are for academic
preparations. Around 230-240 teachers from almost 210-220 schools will be
participating in this workshop. Six training batches of 35-40 teachers each
would be conducted in parallel, wherein a team of 3-4 resource persons would
conduct the training. This training will focus mostly on curricular issues
linked to the areas these teachers need to transact in the classroom.

We invite Prof. Kishore Pawar from the Higher Education department of Madhya
Pradesh to be a resource person for the training from 20th to 24th April 2018.
Tribal Development Department, Maharashtra will bear all costs related to his
travel, stay and other related expenses. We would also request Eklavya to
follow this up with you, hence copying to Director, Eklavya.
