Rajesh,Shilpa has done inputting work for Our food chapter which Madhav ha=
d sent to me. She did it in Krutidev and Madhav is ok with it. She has alre=
ady sent the translation of ''Akash ki or''=C2=A0 to Madhav yesterday. She h=
as been really very prompt.
The calendar is being translated and will be over today. Will check Shilpa'=
s time availability and=C2=A0will ask Shilpa to do the inputting.I notice=
=C2=A0 few things about the calendar.=C2=A0(1)Translating just the boxes an=
d making them in 5th colour is not all.In marathis we have two 'la' while i=
n Hindi there is only one. Hence Mangalwar is written differently in Marath=
i. That means in all months week title "Mangal"will have to be different in=
Hindi and Marathi. (which is not in 5th colour ritht now)/Same problem wit=
h the work Kul (meaning family in botany).=C2=A0The Family names will have =
to be different in Marathi and Hindi, so these have to be changed from pres=
ent colour to the 5th colour.
(2)In one place a tulasidas doha is used which is not quite relevant for th=
e Marathi people.=C2=A0In one place it is said "Dhaak ke teen patte" . In h=
indi the work dhaak and palash are used for the same tree but in marathi th=
ere is only one word palas. In any case the translator has taken a bit of fr=
eedom and done this part.
(3)Coconut that we get to eat is the coconut seed is a very common knowledg=
e in Maharashtra and it does not make much sense to mention this in a separ=
ate box; I feel.
(4)I think there is a mistake about placement of Gulmohar family, will cros=
s check with some other botanist and Kishor and get back. If it is a mistak=
e then you may have to make changes in the artwork.
(5)I am getting the months part translated, but there is some introduction =
and info about chakmak, strot and sandarbh. Should I ask for translating th=
at part also?
