ASHRAE's HVAC Design Essentials
T. David Underwood, P.Eng., Fellow ASHRAE, Life Member, CPMP Chair, Publications and Education Council

An exciting, energetic educational workshop on HVAC Design Essentials has been a great success since ASHRAE launched it last spring. This three-day intensive workshop covers the basics of HVAC design with the aim of making an employee who is new to the industry immediately productive. While the workshop is certainly a great learning opportunity for someone recently out of school, it has also received rave reviews from experienced engineers who have made recent career changes or been assigned new responsibilities.

The next workshop will be held January 11-13, 2012 in Atlanta - the newly renovated ASHRAE HQ is an integral part of the learning experience.

Real-world HVAC Design Skills You Can Use Today
ASHRAE created the HVAC Design Essential Workshop to provide intensive, practical training for HVAC designers and others involved in the delivery of HVAC services. Developed by industry-leading professionals, this workshop provides you with the fundamental and technical aspects of HVAC design in commercial buildings.

In three days, you will gain practical skills and knowledge in designing, installing and maintaining HVAC systems that can be put to immediate use. The workshop provides real-world example of HVAC systems, including calculations of heating and cooling loads, ventilation and diffuser selection using the newly renovated ASHRAE Headquarters building as a living lab.
