Ok.. something was up with the file. Sorry about it but here it is..

These are some ideas I have been working in my head for the religion system. I
drew in aspects from mainly Greek mythos, Christianity, Celtic lore, and a
little bit of originality. As you will notice, I am leaving out names of gods.
Staff would be able to sign up for a particular god to RP and their name would
be attached to the title, simple as that. Major gods would be required to RP
more often than others, but still not as often as to where their work would be
hindered as such. All titles can be flipped to goddess if the situation arises.
I know they sound more like help files than ideas but its how it came out which
will make the process of making actual help files easier in the end.

A. Gods of Asheronon

1.Major Gods

a. God of Purity- ... has ruled the light side since the breaking of the
Eternal Balance. As the leader of the gods he is also the most followed god
since the reunification of the Holy Empire. His followers consist of many
commoners as well as a large amount of clergy. His followers were said to have
written the now lost Holy Book of Zamora as a guide to followers on how to walk
the path of the righteous. He has waged war with the forces of chaos since the
first of written history with most of the wars taking place in the celestial
realms with only two documented to have taken place among mortals.

Viewed by commoners as a just and forgiving god, his priest have long been seen
us upstanding members among small villages and even been known to hold
leadership amongst the cities due to their forgiving nature. His temple, found
in the capital city, is the largest structure, rivaling even the Palace itself.

The sign of the God of Purity is the white maiden.

b. God of Blight-? has ruled the forces of darkness since the destruction of
the Great Balance. Many times he has waged war in order to rule the gods and
the lands but each time has been repelled by the forces of good and light.
Since the first betrayal he has removed himself away from the other gods, save
for the few that followed him since, to a place that remains hidden even to the
God of Purity. It is there that he is always contemplating another way to seek
to ravage the lands in hopes of one day taking the throne from his younger
brother.

Followers of the God of Blight are hard to pick out from common people. Most of
them remain secret, meeting in the most secret of places. Moves have been made
to build a temple in the capital many times but each time the motion was
defeated. As the followers increase in number, however, the openness of the
group increases.

The sign of the God of Blight is a skull.

*c. God of Twilight- When the Eternal Balance was broken the forces of divinity
where divided from The One in to the forces of Good and Evil. The God of
Twilight was placed on neither side and has been waiting for the opportunity to
reveal himself. It is said he is neither good nor evil in nature, choosing
instead to lead the heroes that would walk the paths instead. His true purpose
lies not in aiding either side, but instead to reunite the Eternal Balance. He
has no followers save the few he appoints himself, thus making it the most
secret of orders.

The sign of the God of Twilight is a star.

*This God would have to be the heaviest role played character of all. The plot
lines will heavily involve this character though the details aren?t worked out
in my head yet.

2.Minor Gods

a. God of Sanctuary-.. A favorite god among mothers and clergy of Asheronon,
the God of Sanctuary is said to protect and watch over those who walk the
light. Hasn?t ever played a major part in any of the wars, instead he chose to
care for the wounded in battle. Has always followed the will of the God of
Purity.

Sign: A cross

b. God of Swords - A favorite among paladins and other warriors of the light,
he has led the forces of good in to battle in every war. He shares a special
affinity with the paladins, visiting them more often than any other god visits
mortals.

Sign: a sword basked in light

c. God of Wilderness- God of all things natural, he follows the forces of light
so that he may combat those who wish destruction upon the land. Naturalist have
often associated with him far more than the city dwellers due to his dislike of
all things not natural. By far the most stubborn god, unwilling to change his
ways for anything.

Sign: A stag

c. God of Mist- A mysterious god, and often very untrustworthy among both
mortal and immortal alike. At one time followed the forces of good, he left
instead to join with the God of Blight claiming that good was ?to boring? for
his tastes. Often associated with the unexplainable.

Sign: An orb

d. God of Destruction- A mischievous god who seeks destruction of all things,
namely the forces of light. Working under the forces of evil, he was given free
reign to cause chaos to any land he saw fit making him a deadly threat to his
foes.

Sign: Flame

e. God of Vice- God with only thing in mind? taking advantage of mortals. Many
a betrayal or wrongdoing has been blamed upon him. Followed the God of Blight
so that he could continue with his pestering of mortals that the God of Purity
discouraged so much.

B. Orders

1. Orders would be similar to clans but with a high priest as a leader and
representative of the god on earth. Each order would have a divine being they
worshipped specifically. Requirements for entrance to the order would require a
person to visit the temple of the god. Once there a quest could be performed to
prove worthy to join. Once in the order, the high priest would promote the
members to certain levels in the order. Each order would have high priest, a
number of priest, guardians, and regular members. At each of these ranks except
for the regular members the members would have access to certain powers from
their god. Also, all members would receive a stat bonus from their god in
affect at all times for all ranks.

*note- More ranks are needed*

2.Ranks

2a.A High Priest would be selected for each order by the god in charge. The
High Priest would be the god's voice to the world and act as a leader of the
order. The High Priest controls promoting members of the order as well as
approving new members. All actions of the order would be done through the High
Priest.

*Raz proposed changing the duties to allow more order choices on how they lead.

2b.Each order would also have a champion to represent their order and their
god. The champion would act as the god?s sword on earth. The champion would be
responsible for protecting the order as well as acting out the will of the god
in accordance with the High Priest. The champion could be of any rank except
for high priest or regular member. The champion would be required to log at
least one hour a week or risk losing his title at the wish of the god or high
priest.

2c.Guardians would be the soldiers of the order. Acting as the god's own
special forces per say, they are responsible for protecting the order,
defeating enemies of the order, and doing the will of the order when it comes
to combat. Up to ten guardians could be appointed at one time, though a minimum
of two would be appointed in case of the need of a new champion. The champion,
although leader of the guardians, would not count towards the number of said
guardians.

2d.Priest would act as a diplomatic section of the order. They would be
responsible for all non-combat oriented duties of the order and would be lead
by the high priest of the order.

*The leadership duties could also fall on the priest though this is still to be
decided.

2e. Regular members have no duties as of yet, though once achieving rank in the
order they have access to order powers.

3.Powers would be decided upon at a later date. It is suggested that High
Priest have most, then champion, guardian and priest, then normal members.
Powers would reflect the duty of the said rank in the order ie. champions would
have combat skills.

C. Holy Book of Zamora

1.The book would be written by myself, Neuro, as well as any other writer that
would assist. This book would be available upon completion of it, available
through a plot quest at that time. In this book would be the history of the
gods as well as teachings and other religious ideas. The book would be ?good
based? and be treated as a very holy item. Just an idea, rough draft in first
phase. Otherwise history could be documented in some other way.

2.A dark alternative could also be done as a guide for the opposite forces
showing another point of view.

3.The Book of Ages, chronicling the history from the Twilight side, would also
be availible. This would be a major plot item, not released until later in plot.

D. Closing

I know I am leaving something out right now but I cant figure it out due to it
being 5am. Send me some complaints with it as soon as you read it. Feel free to
add in stuff, just mark it somehow so I will be able to see it. Maybe bold face
it or underline. I put the nature thing in there as a part with you in mind so
I really would like you to add to that if possible.
