Possible Target Areas of Research:
* Applications of alternative testing for ingredient safety
* Effects of ingredients on microbiota
* Impact of Maillard Reaction products on food safety
* Applications of exposure science / modeling for ingredient safety
* Mycotoxins and food safety
* Investigator-initiated proposals relevant to CRIS mission
Funding Available: 1 grant up to $75,000. Indirect costs are not allowable.

Eligibility: Individuals with faculty positions at non-profit academic
institutions in the United States are eligible to apply. Individuals from
institutions other than Michigan State University should contact the CRIS
Director or Research Assistant at cris@xxxxxxx<mailto:cris@xxxxxxx> prior to
submission.
Description:The purpose of this CRIS RFP is to promote new and cutting-edge
areas of research addressing ingredient safety. Grant proposals may be in areas
described above. We anticipate that this RFP will enable investigators to
generate a sufficient body of preliminary information for a successful
application for major research funding from a national granting agency.
Compliance with MSU and CRIS policies: By accepting CRIS funding, researchers
at MSU agree to comply with all training policies, including Responsible
Conduct of Research training and cross-disciplinary education for graduate
students involved in the project. Failure to comply with these policies may
affect eligibility for future funds. All recipients of CRIS funding are also
expected to participate in CRIS science communication activities (e.g. provide
content for CRIS Connects and CRIS Bits, present findings at CRIS Annual
Meeting, etc.).
