REMINDER: Our webinars are now open to non-members for a small fee. Please feel free to send to others you think may be interested in attending. Please join your fellow ASCCT members for a presentation by Katie B. Paul, PhD, Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the US Environmental Protection Agency Using the Adverse Outcome Pathway Framework as a Guide for the Development of High-Throughput Screening Assays for Thyroid-Disrupting Chemicals Disruption of thyroid hormones (THs) adversely affects neurodevelopment in both rodent models and humans. Therefore it is critical to determine the potential thyroid-disrupting activity of environmentally-relevant chemicals, but the complexity of thyroid hormone regulation necessitates screening assays for multiple molecular initiating events that are not currently associated with any screening assays. The system of adverse outcome pathways for thyroid disruption, the development of a high-throughput screening assay for the detection of thyroperoxidase inhibitors, and future thyroid-disruptor screening challenges and potential approaches will be discussed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Meeting Subject: Member webinar: Thyroid Screening and AOPs Meeting Date: Apr 29, 2013 Meeting Time: 2:00 PM EDT ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To join the meeting from your computer or mobile device, click or copy and paste this URL into your browser: http://fuze.me/19351931 To join the audio portion of this meeting, choose your dial in method: Dial-in Number: +1 (775) 996-3560 U.S. toll-free: +1 (800) 741-4032 Skype: fuzemeeting When prompted enter the room number: Room #: 607845 and press the # key.
