Dear Madam / Sir,

We would like to invite you to participate in a research study on the OECD QSAR
Toolbox by completing the survey you can find from the link below.
http://www.webropolsurveys.com/S/1E79956342B144C4.par
As you know, the Toolbox is a free software application intended to be used by
governments, the chemical industry and scientists to fill gaps in toxicity data
needed for assessing the hazards posed by chemicals
(http://www.qsartoolbox.org/). After its initial design as proof-of-concept in
2006, the Toolbox has dramatically grown with updated releases in 2008, 2010
and finally 2012. To further address the long-term issues associated with the
prediction of complex hazard endpoints and to improve its usability, ECHA and
OECD have jointly planned a new phase of development (Phase 3) of the Toolbox,
during which its architecture will undergo drastic improvements in terms of IT,
user interface, functionalities, etc.
Critical to the success of Phase 3 will be the exploitation of the experience
gained by all stakeholders that have used, or entered in contact with the
Toolbox in these years. For this reason, we kindly ask you to fill the linked
electronic questionnaire on Toolbox uses and functions. Your answers will be
extremely important to understand needs, benefits, scope, vision of
stakeholders with the following identification and elaboration of requirements,
use cases, and scenarios. As a long term goal, this survey is also going to
improve communications and collaboration between stakeholders on collection and
use of toxicology data, their meaning, and models derived from them, toxicology
data, meaning, and models.
Your responses will be seen and analysed only internally, and will provide an
input to fine-tuning the Phase 3 development of the Toolbox.
You are kindly requested to submit your answers to the questionnaire by 21 of
October 2013.
Thank you for taking the time to assist us in this endeavour.
Regards,

on behalf of ECHA
