3Rs Prize 2013 International prize for excellence in 3Rs research<http://www.nc3rs.org.uk/page.asp?id=149> The international NC3Rs 3Rs Prize is awarded to highlight an outstanding original contribution to scientific and technological advances in the 3Rs in medical, biological or veterinary sciences published within the last three years. The prize is part of the NC3Rs' commitment to recognise and reward high-quality research which has an impact on the use of animals in the life sciences. Sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline<http://www.nc3rs.org.uk/tracklink.asp?id=0&pId=149&name=GlaxoSmithKline&url=http://www.gsk.com/>, the prize consists of a grant of £18k, plus a personal award of £2k. Highly-commended entries receive a £4k grant and £1k personal award. Eligibility The 3Rs prize is for a piece of primary research published in a peer-reviewed journal in the last three years and is open to any researcher, in academia or industry. The prize is awarded to the principal investigator, research team leader, or other nominated author. The Prize is open to international groups.
