I've had a look at your file and you still haven't managed to get the end
points of the various lines coincident. If you turn the quality setting down
to zero and zoom in, you will see the lines crossing.
You need to do Break shapes and then adjust the end points. When they exactly
coincide, they will join. You need to do this at the four points in the
middle of the cross and at the tips of the four fleurs-de-lys.
