On the utilities menu is show colour bar unticked?
Show colour bar is ticked
Attach colour bar to bottom of doc window is ticked
but no colour bar in sight.
However, after unticking Show and Attach,
Saving choices, then ticking Show and Attach again:-
Hey presto! the colour bar appeared - jusz like that!
