Just to avoid confusion, it was not about "saving on a new page" but 
about saving a selection of objects to a file.

No, you would not normally want to group them. There is no need to and 
if you wanted to group them, then you would certainly not do it in the 
source document.

Or double-click on the little clipboard icon in the info bar. Some 
find that quicker.
