In article <9AA3B6A9-127E-4279-A1EB-C868BDAAEC43@xxxxxxxxx>, TimI did have a slight problem: I had prepared an A4 two-sided trifold flyer, with a combination of different file types (text areas, different graphics); the printers' first draft print (A4) was fine; but they then did the full print run (2000 copies) having used their software to print on A3 sheets to be cut in two. When I saw the finished product, a random selection of the graphics had vanished (one in particular making the remaining text sound very pretentious!).

PDF really does seem to be a fully PortableYes, but it still can be a minefield. The printers I use always ask for a
Document Format these days.
small bitmap version of any PDF you send them in case their rendering
misses an object or two. I've never had a problem with any file I have
generated on RISC OS but they have certainly had problems with entire
print runs having to be binned, apparently, thanks to customer software
not generating PDF objects 'correctly'.
