I'm using AW2.82 with VRPC-AdjustSA (RO 4.39). Recently, I had to reinstall Windows XP SP2, and then VRPC, at which point I upgraded to AW2.82 (from 2.7).

I have 2 problems:

1. I could not reinstall AW2.7 from the original CD ... I had to copy it across from a copy of the VRPC hard disk image which I made prior to reinstalling Windows.

2. When I first run AW after switching on the PC and starting up VRPC, the AW boot sequence gets as far as "Group" and then hangs and renders VRPC unusable ... the only recourse seems to be alt-enter followed by quit VRPC from the top menu (difficult because the PC has slowed to a crawl by then). I then re-run VRPC which tells me it wasn't closed down properly. So, I shut it down from the iconbar, and then re-run it. At that point, running AW2 will normally succeed.

There was a third problem, which I managed to resolve thanks to Aaron at Virtual Acorn. When I first got AW2.82 to run successfully, I was creating some hatch fills (there was some correspondence in the list about this a few days ago). Not being able to access the HatchPro manual on the CD, I was uncertain how to save my newly created hatch fills -- instinctively, I tried a "save choices" from the AW2 iconbar menu, which (I now realise) does not save the hatch fills. When I next switched on the PC and ran VRPC, I could not get AW2 to load at all -- "abort on data transfer ...". The solution was to delete the AW choices file, which suggests that the previous save of the choices file had corrupted it in some way

Can anyone offer any insight into what is causing these problems with AW2.82? Since other applications (like OP and Techwriter) seem to run quite happily, the problem would not seem to lie with VRPC.

All help appreciated.
