Alt-143 is the exact equivalent. I cannot see why Ctrl-Shift-H should 
not work though. Works fine here on both Iyonix and VRPC-Adjust. Maybe 
you have a utility installed that steals this keypress globally?

No. Impression's Ctrl-Shift-H is exactly the same as in ArtWorks. It 
inserts character 143 (not 183!).
