Hi Martin

I often embellish my graphics with a drop shadow. A simple shadow say
for a rectangle can be done in one of two ways.........

Clone a rectangle with a dark grey fill a number of times after setting
high transparency (say 95%). Each new clone is moved a slight amount in
the direction I want the shadow to appear. This works quite well as the
overlayed transparencies blend reasonably well into the background.

Another method uses a series of blends starting from the background
colour to grey - this generally works well but I have a problem when
it comes to "joining" shadows together. This is particularly difficult
with two or three shapes containing holes in the middle - the shadows
cast will obviously be in two to three sections. They must all be
joined to form a homogenous shadow. If this makes no sense (which is
quite likely) come back to me and I will place something on my
website.

In view of these difficulties would it be worth considering a shadow
tool for the next release perhaps based on another very similar
package. A shadow which blends smoothly and effortlessly into the
background would be rather nice.

Best regards

Richard
