Hi folks,
As a result of work on the RK3399 platform (Pinebook Pro etc) John had
cause to "re-sync" his codebase to the main tree this week, and as a
result did a full build of all the platforms he maintains.
Net result is a bevy of new iMX6 (and derivative) ROMs.
I have installed this on my own machine, and all is working well, but as
usual, I'm marking them "beta" initially.
There's not a lot that is distinctly "new" in this release, beyond about
10 months of fixes. I know there are some distinctly useful fixes (eg.
Stuart Swales recently fixed a bug in DranAnObj which caused PrivateEye to
crash), so I'd recommend updating.
For the main iMX6 machines, I have wrapped it up in a full installer, so
it should be smooth and simple to upgrade. Note that I have also updated
this installation routine to be aware of the new TCP/IP stack, to ensure
things migrate correctly.
mini.m users receive a new "kit" which includes the updates, and also the
files needed to create replacement SD cards, as those machines may run
entirely from their OS card.
For iMX6 systems, you'll find the main update in the "Beta OS upgrades"
folder, alongside additional ROMs for "High Vectors" and SMP (multi-core).
Most users will not need the latter two, but they are included for
developers.
For mini.m systems, you'll find everything in the upgrade kit download.
Best wishes,
Andrew
