They've been there since I got the machine. The only
possible changes have come with OS upgrades.

It's the default iMX6 theme (I've just checked). I'm not
one to mess about with themes.
One thing that occurs to me is that I noticed it just after
I'd read a micro SD card in one of these:

The micro SD card was picked at random from my stock and
just happened to hold RISC OS Direct with OS 5.27.
However, noticed the spacing between Float and Display was
present last night just as I was shutting down.
