Hello everyone!

We're pleased to announce that ARMini OS update 3 has now "gone live",
on the ARMini users' private site. This update applies to all users,
and is also recommended for members of the Beagleboard Support Scheme.

The "headline" features of OS update 3 are support for USB CD / DVD
drives, improved audio, and support for the forthcoming "hardware CMOS
addon" which will allow your ARMini to behave like previous RISC OS
machines when it comes to saving settings.

However, the refinements in OS update 3 run much deeper - this release
is based on the RISC OS 5.18 "stable" build which has undergone
extensive testing here at R-Comp, as well as with testers and ROOL
etc. This means there have been many "under the hood" fixes and
performance improvements which make this a very important update.

Some may have noticed that a version of OS update 3 was available on
our download site for 24 hours last month. Please note that this new
version *completely superceeds* that release (it was only present for
testing). In other words, *all users* need to grab this new version.

We'll be issuing a "Super Pack 3" to accompany this release shortly,
which will contain updates to the disc build. However, these aren't
required to use OS Update 3.

To re-iterate, we recommend this update to all users.

For those unfamiliar with updating the OS - it is supplied as a
simple-to-use updater program, which explains how to use it. You can
even roll back to previous OS versions if you don't like the new one
for any reason, so it's a very safe/straightfoward process. Just
download and run the program.

We hope you enjoy the update, and look forward to providing you with
more goodies in future!

Best wishes from us all,

Flashed ROM and powered down. Now all I get is:
Waiting for boot drive to be ready; press Escape to cancel

Hmm?
