Brothers,
It is time to focus on our annual get together and put Covid-19 behind us; I do
hope this e-mail finds you healthy and doing well. I myself got the dreaded
COVID again last November, almost a year since I got it the first time. Good
news is that I was asymptomatic; my antibodies kicked in and smoked the virus.
I’ve been blessed to have solid immunity with a strong level of antibodies
lasting well over a year; hopefully, I’ll steer clear of the Omicron version or
I may have already gotten it but show no symptoms.
OK, now to more serious stuff concerning the reunion. We have arranged for La
Paloma once again with rooms blocked for the “ARIZONA PIKES” and yes, they may
say golf outing as well for April 7th thru the 10th. The rate is $145 a night
with NO RESORT FEE like last year. Special thanks to Mike Botelho for arranging
this once again for 2022. Please start reserving your rooms pronto if you plan
to stay there; as I mentioned before we are kicking off the reunion with a
dinner Thursday night at the Botelho’s who live in La Paloma. We may have golf
set up for Thursday too. I NEED TO KNOW WHO IS GOING TO MAKE IT TO DINNER
THURSDAY NIGHT, furthermore if you want to golf that day too.
Golf is set but we need to know who will play on Friday at Lowes Ventana Canyon
and Saturday at La Paloma. La Paloma gave us a rate of $119 and we have 28
spots reserved. Stan Spackeen got us on the Mountain course at Ventana Canyon
on Friday starting at 9:50 AM with 16 slots to fill, cost is $100.80, and you
pay at the course like usual. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU PLAN ON PLAYING GOLF ON
FRIDAY OR SATURDAY OR BOTH DAYS!
WE ONCE AGAIN WILL VENTURE TO WATCH CATS BASEBALL ON FRIDAY NIGHT; THEY WILL
CRUSH WASHINGTON STATE AND I’LL NEED TO KNOW WHO IS GOING SO WE CAN GET THE
RIGHT AMOUNT OF TICKETS!
One last thing, besides dinner at Botelho’s Thursday night which is new; we
plan to have a great dinner Saturday night at the SANDS CLUB in the U of A
Football stadium. The time and menu is TBD and I will need to collect money for
this dinner. Stan Spackeen and Matt Harelson are working on the cost and it
most likely will be a fixed menu with some options. YES, ONCE AGAIN I NEED TO
KNOW WHO IS GOING TO THE DINNER THAT NIGHT. We’ll probably collect via Venmo or
Zelle in advance; no dinero, no comida! I hope to see if they’ll put the
famous photo of the Pike Intramural Championship up on the wall in the Club;
well maybe the bathroom at least…
Look forward to HEARING BACK from everyone soon and seeing you in the Old
Pueblo for the 40th!
