It's in the source code - almost the first thing in the targen.c file.
But why do you want to know ? It's not useful for anything much more
than the intended purpose, which is (as Ben correctly states), for
patch recognition and for estimating perceptual distribution.
The outline is that for RGB and CMYK and other colorant combinations
there is a simple mixing model defined in xicc/xcolorants.c (see
icxColorantLu_to_XYZ()) and if you feed an ICC profile or MPP profile
in using the -c parameter, it uses that. But I can't imagine why you
would want to know where the exact numbers come from, because they
don't matter. As long as they roughly resemble the behavior of a real
device, they serve their intended purpose.
