Krita -> [top menu] Settings -> Configure Krita -> Display [left tab] ->
[x] Enable OpenGL

+ a proper gradient test image e.g.

from http://www.oyranos.org/wiki/index.php?title=Test_Images
should reveal the smothness of gradients. Compare with zooming 100% in
Krita and e.g. FF .
