They are different. The ColorMunki is more display independent - it will
give consistent accuracy for all types of displays. The i1d3 has better low
light accuracy. Theoretically it may b emore accurate with a displays that it

a high quality calibration for. (Hard to know when that is the case though!).
Typically you would use both if you have both - create a ccmx for
the i1d3 using the ColorMunki for your display, and then use the i1d3 to
calibrate/profile.

The "Optix XR" or "Optix XR2" or "Optix Pro" is an X-Rite DTP-94, and the
"MonacoOPTIX" is a i1d1, so yes they should work with ArgyllCMS. Note though
that an i1d1 is likely to have poor accuracy if its filters have faded over the
years.
