Hi.
I have been creating rgb profiles for my printer for a while, and I notice that
in the 3D visualisation of my profiles (using either iccgamut/viewgam, or iOS’
ColorSync Utility), profiles created with Argyllcms show the gamut not
stretching all the way to full (0%) black on the Lab scale.
I presume this is because it is presenting where paper black is on the scale of
absolute black, which makes sense.
However, when trying to compare with other profiles (either profiles created by
paper manufacturers, or by my own colormunki/i1studio software), I can’t
accurately compare because their profiles always stretch all the way to full
black.
Also, when I use tiffgamut to create a gamut from an image, the 3D
representation stretches all the way to 0% black, so I have been unable to
compare my image gamut to the printer gamut.
Is there a way of adjusting the gamut view to stretch it all the way from 100%
to 0% L (in Lab)?
Thanks!
