Hi,
Thanks for Argyll CMS, it allows me to use my recently bought i1Studio for
measuring custom patches as I experiment with profiling for black and white
printing.
Through online documentation and the list archive I have got up and running
using it but have a couple of questions I was unable to find the answers for.
Hopefully someone might point me in the right direction or provide answers;
1.
In a ti1 file what are the following, how are they arrived at and how do they
effect measuring patches with i1Studio?
APPROX_WHITE_POINT
DENSITY_EXTREME_VALUES
DEVICE_COMBINATION_VALUES
2.
The -h option in printarg:
In the help menu it says “double density for CM (ColorMunki or I1Studio)”. What
I find when I turn it on is that the patches are about half the size.
I was surprised by this as I find it makes measuring with the i1Studio more
difficult. Do I understand this option correctly, it is meant to make the
patches smaller?
3.
When I make a 16Bit tiff file with printer it shows in my print tool as
inverted(negative). This is not an issue as my print tool has an option to make
it a negative/positive but I would like to understand why it is happening. Is
there some option in printing I should be using?
4.
The GRAY_K values in the ti2 file have been changed slightly from the ones
listed in the ti1 file… but I am not sure why?
i.e. 5 becomes 5.098039

Kevin May
