Sadly, they are not just warnings. The libraries don't get created and the
compilation stops later when they are needed.
I will explore this a bit further, perhaps there's a way to get back to the
older behaviour. But in any case no problem, I can wait until the next
release.

yes, it's compiler related. Older/other compilers didn't report
the multiple definitions. It should be fixed in the next ArgyllCMS release,
but if it's just warnings, ignore them, or turn the warnings
off.
