When I started doing my own profiles it was with the original ColorMunki when
it first came out. I used the original X-Rite software and the profiles were
good. I started using Argyll to profile and they were better once I learned
all the nuances. However, I was using a lot of paper as he patch size was
large. I bought an i1 (I think around 2012) and started using that. I sold
the ColorMunki so I did not do any real direct comparisons. The i1 Pro was
easier to use and capable of bi-directional scanning. These days I don't
profile as much as I have papers that I like to print on and don't see a need
to change.

Subject: [argyllcms] colormunki vs other Hardware
Hi List
Having a little trouble profiling injekt-prints with Argyll and a Colormunki
(sparing details for now).
Profile with monki and argyll not very good.
Profile with i1 pro and i1 software very good.
No possibility for me to try i1 pro with Argyll.
Therefore my question:
Has anyone ever tested printer profiling with a Munki+Argyll vs
i1-pro+Argyll (or other more expensive hardware)?
Did you ever reach satisfying print quality with Munki+Argyll?
I would like to find out if the limitations of quality are due to hardware
limitations of the Munkis sensor or wrong workflow on my side.
Thank you,
Georg
