Then what are you profiling?
The whole point of the .ti3 file is that it contains the absolute (XYZ,
typically, but also Lab or spectral reflectivity + illuminant) color values of
the reference and the RGB values produced by the camera. The profiling software
then figures out the correspondence between the two and writes it in the form
of the profile.
Wherever those RGB values came from, that's what the resulting profile will be
valid for.
