Argyll 1.8.3, Windows 10, Argyll USB driver installed, shows up in device manager as Colormunki (Argyll):

PS C:\Users\Chris> dispcal -r

Set instrument sensor to calibration position,
and then hit any key to continue,
or hit Esc or Q to abort:

Set instrument sensor to calibration position,
and then hit any key to continue,
or hit Esc or Q to abort:

Calibrate failed with 'User hit Abort Key' (No device error)
The instrument can be removed from the screen.
Argyll 'V1.8.3' Build 'MSWin 64 bit' System 'Windows V10.0 SP 0'
dispcal: Error - new_disprd() failed with 'Instrument Access Failed'

Argyll seems not to recognize the device, setting the rotary dial to the calibrate position is no different to any other position.

Trying again with the default windows driver installed (Shows up in device manager as X-Rite devices > Colormunki)

PS C:\Users\Chris> dispcal -r
Argyll 'V1.8.3' Build 'MSWin 64 bit' System 'Windows V10.0 SP 0'
dispcal: Error - No instrument at port 1
