What about the unsupported but electronically similar hardwares?
I already told the example: My display has internal LUTs but there is no any
public software which can access them.
This was a relatively cheap display but there are displays with the same (or
almost the same) LCD panel and hardware-calibration support (I think they
share the LUT-programming method) for a much bigger price tag.
