[argyllcms] "Spacers" in printtarg

I have difficulty getting "spacers" to appear in the TIFF target?
Suppose I use this command line:
printtarg -v -iSS -r -T -a4 -A4 -c OutFile
The -I flag is my Spectroscan.
The -r flag is to avoid randomization.
The -T flag is the 16bit TIFF option
The -c flag is the Default behavior?
The -a and -A flags are supposed to "scale" the patches, and they do!
The problem is I would like to have the patches separated by white or other
color space. How can I do that?
