Hi Roger,
no there is no such utility in Argyll at present. I did write some tools
like this a long time ago for a different system, and did sketch out a tool to
reduce
a raster to N representative colors using median cut clustering (based on some
old xli code I wrote), but I have never turned it into a finished tool.
