Yes of course, sorry if I assumed this was apparent. The White prints first
and CMY on top.
The thing I am trying to do is to sort of "trick" the printer into not
using Black as black but White instead, or to not print Black at all. This
would enable either a one pass or two pass print cycle, either are fine.
It is easy enough to tell the printer to print grayscale Black only, but
turning off Black when printing color is not so easy. I am trying to see if
I can "profile" away the black.

What are you trying to do ? It makes little sense to mix white and CMY
inks,
because CMY are primaries that are used in a subtractive process.
The only thing that makes any sense is something like
laying the white ink down as a first pass (say on a non-white
media), and once it is cured, printing CMY or CMYK over the top of it.
(Some Roland printers allow this.)
