My understanding of copyright law is that when program A invokes
program B in a simple way and just expects B to do its job,
this does not make them one combined program. Therefore, if
a nonfree editor invokes GCC to compile a C program, that does not
violate the GNU GPL in regard to GCC,
The only difference in the AGPL is that it requires servers
that run the program to make its source code available.
That seems to be orthogonal to this point,
But IANAL. A lawyer might tell you differently.
