Which version of libusb did you link against ?

It's almost certainly a bad idea to link against some
other version of libusb than the one I supply with
the Argyll distribution. I've modified it to
fix some issues with specific instruments, and
I've qualified that particular version to work
with the supported instruments. In my (growing)
experience, interactions between instrument and
the USB systems are rather fragile. Changing
something like the version of libusb is not
to be undertaken lightly - it has a high chance
of breaking things, so if you're going to do this,
you need to be prepared to re-test all the instruments,
to make sure there are no regressions. If you're not going
to do this testing, then please don't attempt to switch
to some other version of libusb.
