yes, there is something wrong somewhere. I dont know where to start looking.
All I know
is ....if I remove and reinsert the USB plug of the instrument, Argyll works
fine for a
few minutes more and craps out. Isn't the Argyll driver in question here?

There aren't any other reports like yours though, and I've not seen the
behavior you describe on my test machine, so it's likely that
it's something particular to your setup. That being the case, it's
rather difficult for anyone else to help. From the your description it
seems like the instrument "goes off the air" at some stage. It could
be an intermittently faulty instrument, or some other thing interfering
with things (ie. other USB devices plugged into your system.)

I'll do a bit more testing on Vista if you like with my i1display2,
but if I can't reproduce the problem, there's not much I can do to help.

BTW, today I
found out that the bundled iMatch 3 software (which came with the instrument)
works
absolutely fine on this Windows Vista machine.........and it does a pretty good
job of
creating a icc in like 15 minutes!

By all means use that if you prefer.

Graeme Gill.
