My question is a basic one.
I have made some profiles for my scanners with RoughProfiler and different
IT8.7 35mm slide targets. But those profiles are for relatively new films and I
don’t have a Kodachrome target.
I’d like to characterize the scanner. Which Argyll commands/options should I
use to make a scanner profile (not a specific film profile)?
Does it make any difference if I scan with gamma 1.0 or a higher gamma (like
2.2 or more)?
My workflow: make a raw 16 bit tiff scan with Vuescan and assign a profile in
Photoshop or Capture One. The scanners are Sprintscan 35plus and Artixscan
4000tf.
