More seriously, you should try a more recent linux kernel, USB stack has evolved a lot since 2.6.9 (even if it is patched in WB).
I'm working towards setting up a more recent piece of hardware (Pentium Pro 200's are unreasonably slooow with the modern desktop code bloat). If only there were some reliable information on what currently available motherboards run comfortably with Linux. If I gather the hardware, figure out how to multi-boot MSWindows and various Linuxes, then I might be able to investigate these issues a bit. Graeme Gill.
