I am no expert, but did you consider the possible limits of ink and paper
combination? E.g. matte papers do not produce so rich black like glossy ones.
My matte papers produce lab value around 15, if I recall correctly. I am not
sure to which extent the black would become darker if I start playing with
the ink limits. Searching the web confirmed this value, hence I take it as a
limit.
