It probably shouldn't be up to the printer driver to determine this though. Ideally the print driver should allow printing the largest gamut possible within practical limits, and leave it up to the profile to do the rest. If Gutenprint is applying some sort of total ink limit for a CMYK mode, then this should really be disabled for profiling purposes, and the ink limit asserted in the profile creation. Graeme Gill.
