What instrument You have use?
If You have try a colorimeter, it may have a shift itself, because colorimeter 
matrix may be not optimized for your certain display(s).
Have You try to build a Lab LUT profile from this data?

IMHO, the most correct results will be when measurements are taken by 
spectrophotometer in hi-resolution mode. The -oshaw key in spectrum to CIE 
conversion may help too. If the display spectrum rather peaky, the mention 
about possible spectrophotometer band overexposure must be made.
