Hi all,

Let me first introduce myself, because i'm new here ;-). My name is Lennart,
30yrs from the Netherlands. Sometimes i work as a freelance photographer
besides my study. One of the things i really want, is quality. So i bought 2
years ago a Eye-One Display 2 for Windows. After that, i wanted to step over
to linux (ubuntu) but only one thing stopped me: the lack of support for my
calibrator.

Gretag said, in a mail, that there's no ICC support in Linux, so they don't
support it (off course, Linux works with packages ...). A dualboot with
windows for a colorprofile only is a little bit superfluos. And at least,
finally, o tnx, i ran into Argyll! Now i can use my Eye-One under Linux!

Thanks, Graeme, and keep up the good work!

Now the other side ... After years of windows i'm totally GUI orientated (i
started with basic and dos ...). So a " totally CLI set of programs" is a
little bit confusing for me. After 4 hours (!) i finally understood
something and something happened (with dispcal)(okay, i did some other stuff
between, like eating ;-). Therefore, i've some questions:

* is there a gui for linux :-P (or in progress?)
* is there a decent tutorial to work with the CLI with this program? I mean
a step-by-step guide for first time users. Now it's dazzling me because al
of the options. The dispcal.html has (as an example) >all< information, but
i only want some >first< information.

greetz, Lennart
