Unfortunately even an exact reproduction of the XYZ colors does not imply that the _appearance_ of these colors would be identical as well, if the viewing conditions for the original and the reproduction are different. And the viewing conditions are usually pretty different for the real-world scene being captured, and e.g. for a monitor in a dim environment. If you rather want to reproduce the _appearance_ of the original scene and not its colorimetry, then you additionally need to apply a color appearance model (e.g. CIECAM02). Regards, Gerhard
