With the instrument plugged in, if you go to "About this Mac",
"More Info..." and look at "Hardware", "USB", so you see
the eye-one under the "USB Bus" heading in the Device Tree ?
If you select it, does it show a Vendor ID of 0x0971 and
a Product ID of 0x2000 ?

Are you running any other software on that computer that accesses the
instrument, and if so what ? Does it successfully see the instrument ?

Yes, Eye One Match drives the instruments correctly

It's possible that the Eye One Match software has installed
a driver that grabs the instrument so that nothing else
can see it. One way of testing this theory would be
to uninstall Eye One Match and then see if Argyll can
see the instrument, although this might not be
convenient.

Another way would be to search amongst
the Info.plist files under /System/Library/Extensions
for any drivers that contain a vendor id of 2417 and
a product id of 8192, and see if it is associated with the
Eye One Match software.

( ie. something like:

find /System/Library/Extensions -name Info.plist -print | xargs grep
2417

Maybe someone else who runs Eye One Match on a Mac can comment on
whether Argyll can see their instrument ?
