I'm assisting a friend with his brand new X-Rite i1 DisplayPro, which
has a new revision and firmware.

Firmware Date: 29Jan14
ArgyllCMS succeeds at driving it only partially:
spotread 1.8.2 works without trouble except when the colors to read
are very dark, which includes AMOLED panels blacks.
Such attempts fail with the error message:
Got fatal error 'Communication protocol breakdown' (Message from
instrument had bad status code)
The same sensor behaves as expected using X-Rite software.
Attached: verbose debugs logs of spotread readings for a gray and a
black dark enough to trigger the error.
