I see that at least one person likes my idea. Cool! :)

I meant only fully interactive process.

I do however think that as an additional option a sane calibration
results could also be (randomly?) generated - this would be great for
demonstrating the software. I would treat such an option as a
"low-priority to implement" though.

Yes. I meant to visualise the following algorithm:
1) generate the first patch
2) display a color patch for measuring
3) ask the user to enter the coordinates of the color of the patch -
either by giving all coordinates at once or one at a time (the choice
is completely irrelevant)
4) if there is no "next patch" - end measurement session and finish
program otherwise generate the next patch
5) goto 2)

I do not know how such "measurement data" could be generated. Please
bear in mind that I am very new to Argyll (I have not yet managed to
calibrate anything with it due to lack of supported sensor [Spyder3 is
not yet supported]).
