It should use the currently assigned display profile. That seemed to work. And it looks like the i1Profiler matrix profile is not more accurate overall, although it does a lot better on grays. It also seems to miss in the opposite direction on some colors, which ends up being subjectively "nicer", but not more accurate. So with ArgyllCMS, reds are too orange, and with i1Profiler, they're too anti-orange, or something. So it looks like if I want accuracy, I will have to use a LUT profile. Now here's a new wrinkle... Both i1Profiler and ArgyllCMS seem to be producing pretty accurate LUT profiles, but the one from i1Profiler looks a lot smoother in Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop, whereas the ArgyllCMS one has some pretty ugly banding. Is there anything that can be done to get a smoother result? Use a larger testchart? Smaller? Add some other magic ingredient? -- Tom Schumm http://www.fortmyersgo.org/
