I'm not sure that there is any hope in what you are attempting.
Even plugging a genuine DTP41T plate into a non-T instrument,
doesn't turn it into a DTP41T (I just tried this). I would imagine
there is some other difference, like different firmware, or the
presence of factory calibration information for the transmission mode.
