Hello guys,

I don't think that ccmx created for a particular monitor/calibrator
combination will be useful for any another combo. It's mainly because very
poor inter-instrumental agreement between cheap colorimeters. Spyder 3 or
i1D are proven to have up to 18dE between instruments. If you add variations
between monitors to this equation then it's clearly visible that matrix
created by me will be most probably useless to any of you. Additionally
using such matrix you will never be sure whether everything is OK or not as
you don't have any reference.

But despite of this ccmxmake is a very powerful tool and it was main reason
I've decided to ArgyllCMS. Considering that spectroradiometers are very
expensive in comparison with colorimeters and have poor response in dark
areas I've decided to buy cheapest Spyder 3 and rent some spectroradiometer
(ColorMunki most probably) for a day or two. Then I'll create correction
matrices for my two monitors/TV/Spyder3 combo. I think that then everything
should be fine, but my matrix will be ONLY valid for my Spyder 3 and when
used with another Spyder will give random unpredictable results.
Unfortunately I didn't do it yet, mainly due to lack of free time. :)

P.S. It's my first attempt to use mailing lists so maybe you can give little
help to me. Is it possible to download this month's list archive to my email
client (The Bat!)?

br,
darzur
