First, let me say what I've been doing. I created a display profile using argyll, and I load it using xcalib. But it definitely reverts every time the screensaver comes up. Also, xprop -root | grep ICC yields nothing. Second, a while back I found xicc but it was not clear how it would help me. I asked Burton via email, but I didn't really understand his response "As I understand it, if you have calibrated your monitor using argyll CMS to sRGB, then that is all you need to do because the calibration happens in the server. xicc and so on is only required when there is no correction happening in the hardware (as there is with argyllcms)." If there is some way to load my profile in the Xserver so that eog and gimp would automatically use it, I would be very happy to do so. Should I go back and compile xicc and try to use it? I assume in that case, I wouldn't have to use xcalib.
