I downloaded the current version of argyll which works fine for me under
Fedora Core 7, but it would be more convenient if it were installed as
an rpm package. I hope what you provided will also work with Fedora 7,
and that you include it as an rpm package for that version.

I have been delaying upgrading to Fedora 8 because a program I use,
Maple, doesn't appear to work under it. Since it cost me a tidy sum and
I use it in my work, I am reluctant to give it up. When I get a
chance, I will figure out what the problem with Maple is, and then I
will upgrade, but it may take a while.

I had a similar problem with gimp-2.4. It became available for Fedora 8
long before it popped up as an upgrade for Fedora 7, so I had to compile
it separately. Of course, the Fedora 8 package may work fine under
previous versions, but often in the past I've found that it relies on a
variety of other upgrades, not all of which are really essential for
what I need. When I start applying them one at a time, I sometimes find
that other things stop working, so I'm reluctant to start on such a path
if I don't have to.
